Fuel Biocide Additives Announcements
The FAA, EASA, and Pratt & Whitney Canada have issued the following bulletins providing general guidance for the use of Kathon FP1.5 and Biobor JF biocide jet fuel additives:

- Pratt and Whitney Canada SIL GEN-156 DUPONT KATHON™ FP 1.5 Fuel Biocide Product Discontinuation
These bulletins advise gas turbine-powered aircraft and engine manufacturers, aircraft operators, fixed-base operators (FBOs), repair stations, and other civil aviation authorities of the recent developments regarding the use of aviation fuel biocides and adverse engine operating conditions that have resulted from its use.
NOTE: Biobor JF is the only biocide approved for use on the EA500. The procedure for its use is provided in AMM 28-00-01 Page 901. EA500 service centers have reported no adverse in-service experiences with Biobor JF biocides usage on the EA500. Biobor JF has been used on the EA500 aircraft and PW610F-A engine for 10+ years without issue.
Export Control
These commodities, technology or software, were exported from the United States in accordance with the Export Administration Regulations. These commodities, technology or software are intended for use only in the End User’s country. An export license from the U.S. Department of Commerce may be required before these products can be re-exported, transferred, transshipped on a non-continuous voyage, or otherwise disposed of in any other country, either in their original form or after being incorporated into an end item. Diversion of this end-item or its use contrary to any applicable U.S. government license or to U.S. law is prohibited.
