Combustion Liner Update Announcements
Eclipse Aerospace in conjunction with Pratt Whitney Canada is pleased to provide the following update on the Engine Combustion Liner Replacement Program.
As of January 31, 2012, PWC has produced and delivered and EAI has received engine liners for 85 of the 259 aircraft in need of the liner replacement. This represents 33% of the fleet completed in the first 8 months of the program.
While we are very proud to be solving this legacy Eclipse Aviation issue, EAI is disappointed in the time that it is taking to complete the program. The main reason for the delay is in the backorder of supply of new liners. EAI is in weekly communication with PWC to encourage and support PWC in improving on the backorder supply issue. Please rest assured that EAI is well staffed, trained and properly tooled to install these new liners as quickly as they become available.
Liners are offered for replacement to aircraft owners in serial number order and based on the acquisition date of the aircraft by the current owner. In other words the Owner that has owned his aircraft the longest will receive his liners before the later owner. There are some exceptions, for the Total Eclipse fleet, foreign owners and those owners who have experienced engine issues prior to the anticipated Liner exchange date. As of January 31, 2012, EAI has now taken liner orders for those owners who have an acquisition date on or before March 31, 2008.
At the present time, EAI expects PWC to provide 10-13 ship-sets of liners per month until the program is complete. At this rate the entire fleet will be accommodated during 2012.
Based on the best available data to EAI, those who have not received a call for liners yet should expect their liners to be available for install as follows:
| Date of Aircraft Acquisition | Estimated Quarter for Completion |
|---|---|
| March 2008 - May 2008 | 1Q 2012 |
| June 2008 - September 2008 | 2Q 2012 |
| October 2008 - December 2008 | 3Q 2012 |
| January 2009 - December 2011 | 1Q 2013 |
- EAI does review Acquisition Dates and does take into consideration if original Acquisition Dates changed as a result of the primary owner transferring the subject aircraft to a new entity but still remaining under the control of the same primary owner.
- EAI reserves the right to intersperse Total Eclipse refurbishment planes and other aircraft into the order out of sequence when extra ordinary conditions warrant. However these exceptions are few and far between and will not result in any significant movement of the schedule for aircraft in date of acquisition order.
Although we cannot move your liner date up to coincide with other maintenance events, we can schedule your liners for install in sequence or after to coordinate with other aircraft down time for future maintenance events. We will make every attempt to minimize inconvenience as much as possible. Eclipse Aerospace will contact each owner approximately 60 days before we anticipate your liner arrival to schedule your in shop date, you do not need to contact EAI. However, if you have a question about the process please direct them to Ken Ross our President of Global Services, ken.ross@eclipse.aero or on his cell phone (847) 980-8620. Ken is prepared to personally assist each customer, in the process as their turn in sequence grows near.
Thank you for your patience and both the teams at EAI and PWC are doing everything in our power to complete this program as quickly as possible.
