SB Reason
This Service Bulletin has been prepared to improve the performance of the Vapor Cycle System (VCS).
Revision B changes include: Labels on Figure 15 incorrect. Swapped "IP Door Actuator" and "Floor Door Actuator" positions.
SB Description
This Service Bulletin addresses the replacement of the three stepper motor actuators on the P/N 2188116 forward evaporator module and the replacement of the stepper motor actuator on the P/N 2188117 aft evaporator module. The replacement actuators are designed for improved performance when operated with the available current from the aircraft computer system. The forward evaporator module is comprised of an evaporator coil with a coil temperature sensor, 28 VDC centrifugal blower with a speed resistor pack, thermal expansion valve, and an air distribution module that is comprised of three valves to control the distribution of cold, warm and recirculated air. The aft evaporator module is comprised of an evaporator coil, 28 VDC refrigerant shut off valve, 28 VDC centrifugal blower with a speed resistor pack, thermal expansion valve, and a 28 VDC heater air bypass valve.
