| SB Number | Revision | SB Type | Title | Date (YYYY-MM-DD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SB 500-34-029 | A | Mandatory | IS&S GPS Week Rollover Correction (iFMS 2.0.8/2.5.2) | 2019-04-17 |
SB Reason
The GPS transmits the date and time in a specific format that consists of the current week and the current number of seconds in the week. The field that contains the week number is a 10-bit binary number. This limits the range of the week number to 0-1023 or 1024 weeks in total. The GPS week zero started on 06 January 1980, and the first reset of the 1024 weeks counter happened on 21 August 1999. The current reset happened on 06 April 2019. The software in the IS&S GPS receiver was supposed to correct for this rollover but it did not perform correctly.
SB Description
This Service Bulletin provides instructions for updating the IS&S GPS to correct the GPS date and time. IS&S SB1913 updates the GPS through the Pilot’s Armrest USB port. IS&S SB1914 can be used in lieu of SB1913 and updates the GPS through the left or right PFD connector.
SB Compliance
Eclipse Aerospace Incorporated considers this to be a mandatory upgrade that should be accomplished within 90 days or 50 hours which ever comes first.
Effectivity
Aircraft Serial Numbers: 000001 to 000262, 000266, 000267 with iFMS version 2.0.8 or 2.5.2.
