SB Number Revision SB Type Title Date (YYYY-MM-DD)
SB 500-52-010 B Mandatory Passenger Door Lock Pin O-Ring Replacement 2019-05-15

SB Reason

The MS28775-110 "O" Ring in the passenger door latch release mechanism is susceptible to swelling as a result of exposure to diester based synthetic lubricants. (Diester based synthetic lubricants are used in the assembly of the door latch mechanism.) This results in the exterior release button and interior lock knob sticking and not readily returning to the neutral (locked) position.

SB Description

This Service Bulletin provides the steps to replace the passenger door lock pin o-ring that is compatible with diester based synthetic oils. Revision B of this Service Bulletin updates Labor Requirements, Compliance, Materials, and Accomplishment Instructions.

SB Compliance

Eclipse Aerospace Inc. considers this to be a mandatory upgrade that should be accomplished at the next 300 hour inspection. Aircraft that have had SEM 500-00172 accomplished may not require additional work in regards to the o-ring. Review aircraft logbook for an SEM 500-00172 entry. Bolt safety wire check is required as part of Rev B. Refer to 3. Accomplishment Instructions, step (2)(d). Compliance with Rev A, does not constitute compliance with Rev B.
