Applicability
CI 2728-410 GPS/XM/VHF ComDat® Antenna
SIL Summary
This Service Information Letter announces the availability of a field service kit to replace damaged antenna diverter strips.
SIL Background
The lightning diverter strips installed on the CI 2728-410 ComDat antenna can become damaged due to exposure to the environment. Replacement of the diverter strips has previously been accomplished by replacing the affected antenna.
Eclipse Action
EAI has approved a field service kit that allows for replacement of the diverter strip without having to replace the entire antenna.
Suggested Operator Action
If an operator notices damage to the diverter strip on either ComDat® antenna contact EAI to schedule replacement of the strip. If the affected antenna is serviceable, installation of the field kit to replace the diverter strip represents a significant cost savings versus replacement of the entire antenna.
