SIL Summary

This SIL provides information regarding available vendor support for the subject GPS receivers.

SIL Background

The P/N 13764 series GPS receivers were installed as original equipment on aircraft delivered with the AvioNG 1.0/1.3 avionics suite, and on aircraft modified by Eclipse Service Bulletin 500-99-002.

EAI has been notified by the current holder of the TSO authorization that due to parts obsolescence these units are no longer repairable. EAI has also been advised of the availability of a software update to these units intended to ensure their operational performance.

Eclipse Action

The P/N 13764 series GPS receivers were removed from the effective aircraft by Eclipse Service Bulletin 500-99-005 and are no longer used. EAI does not provide warranty support for these units.

EAI has not performed any testing on the software update for these units, thus there is no assurance they will perform in the aircraft as intended with the updated software installed. Operators electing to install the software update do so at their own risk.

Suggested Operator Action

Operators of aircraft equipped with P/N 13764 series GPS receivers interested in updating the installed software in their units should contact the TSO holder directly at the following and reference Service Bulletin AT-SB-13764-06142013:
