SIL Summary
This SIL provides information regarding spurious L/R BLEED VALVE FAIL CAS messages.
SIL Background
Operators have reported momentary L/R BLEED VALVE FAIL CAS messages during engine start and when a bleed valve transitions from low to high flow.
Eclipse Action
Eclipse Aerospace has investigated these messages and the detection conditions for the underlying events. As a result, a software change has been incoroporated into Avio IFMS 2.5 to prevent spurious L/R BLEED VALVE FAIL CAS messages.
Suggested Operator Action
Pilots must be alert for any CAS messages that may appear and take the appropriate action as specified in the AFM and QRH. CAS messages should always be considered to be accurately reporting a fault condition that requires the pilot’s attention or action.
For momentary L/R BLEED VALVE FAIL CAS messages that are present for 3 seconds or less, no action is required.
For L/R BLEED VALVE FAIL CAS messages that are present for greater than 3 seconds, the appropriate action as specified in the AFM and QRH must be followed.
NOTE: If there is any question regarding any CAS messagemessage, the AFM and QRH
procedures should always be followed.
