SIL Summary

This SIL provides guidance regarding Modification Bulletin MB 500-24-005 and changes to the Aft Power Distribution Center (Aft PDC) configuration file.

SIL Background

Eclipse engineering has released MB 500-24-005. This MB installs Aft PDC ECBU Configuration Data P/N SM1222-020-006.

Eclipse Action

EAI is providing this SIL to provide information about this configuration data update and the effect it will have on ordering Aft PDCs.

Suggested Operator Action

ECBU Configuration Data P/N SM1222-020-006 changes the programmed rating for certain Aft PDC ECBs to match the requirements for aircraft in the IFMS 2.07, 2.5, 2.7 and later configurations. All Eclipse 550 aircraft will be configured with this ECBU configuration data update. SM1222-020-006 is installed via MB 500-24-005 for Eclipse 500 aircraft being upgraded to the IFMS 2.07, 2.5, or 2.7 configuration.

Aft PDCs with ECBU Configuration Data P/N SM1222-020-006 are not compatible with aircraft in any of the pre-IFMS 2.07 configurations. If a replacement Aft PDC is needed the aircraft's avionics configuration must be confirmed. This information should be communicated with Eclipse customer service when ordering the Aft PDC so the replacement unit is properly configured before shipping.

Aft PDCs with SM1222-020-006 installed will have an updated configuration data placard applied to the exterior of the chassis adjacent to the part number / serial number placard. See figure 1 for an example (download PDF for image.
