SIL Summary
This SIL introduces the availability of repair kits for the wing and horizontal stabilizer de-ice boots.
SIL Background
EAI has received customer requests to develop repairs for the wing and horizontal stabilizer de-ice boots to prevent replacement of the boots for minor damage.
Eclipse Action
EAI has approved two repair kits for minor damage to the wing and horizontal stabilizer de-ice boots. In addition, EAI has published AMM Temporary Revision (TR) No. TR30-1, which provides instructions and limitations regarding the use of these repairs.
Suggested Operator Action
Two repair kits are available for the wing and horizontal stabilizer de-ice boots. The appropriate kit to use depends on the size of the damage. Operators with aircraft having a damaged wing or horizontal stabilizer de-ice boot should consult the noted TR to determine its repairability. Both repair kits are available from EAI.
De-ice boots with damage that exceeds the limitations noted in the TR must be replaced.
