SIL Summary
This SIL provides guidance regarding polishing of the wing tip nav light lenses
SIL Background
Eclipse Aerospace, Inc. (EAI) received enquiries regarding polishing of the wing tip nav light lenses . EAI consulted with the manufacturer of the wing tip nav light lenses regarding polishing. The manufacturer's response is that p olishing of the lens is not recommended and will potentially compromise and remove the coating on the lens .
Eclipse Action
EAI is issuing this SIL to advise all aircraft operators of this recommendation.
Suggested Operator Action
EAI recommends installing the Wing Tip Tank Boot part number ATR - 004. These boots are available for installation at all EAI approved service centers.
