SIL Summary
This SIL provides guidance regarding an issue that was recently discovered with the iFMS 2.7.8. Software update for Eclipse 500s with IFMS 2.7 and all Eclipse 550s.
SIL Background
Eclipse Aerospace (EAI) Service Engineering and Innovative Solutions and Support (IS&S) received reports of an Avionics Databus Fail CAS message, dashed out transponder information for the offside transponder and navigation database MISMATCH indications after loading the IFMS 2.7.8 software update on some aircraft.
Eclipse Action
EAI Avionics Engineering together with IS&S are investigating the root cause of these indications. The investigation to date has determined that the indications are related to an initialization issue with the PFD to PFD Ethernet data bus connection when the aircraft first powers up.
