SIL Summary
This SIL updates the information and guidance regarding an issue with Engine Condition Trend Monitoring (ECTM) reporting via the Iridium Satellite System.
SIL Background
The issue with the server software that processes ECTM data was recently resolved. The issue affected the ability of the software to properly decode the aircraft serial number in the binary data file transmitted by the aircraft with IFMS 2.7.8 or 2.8 EFIS Software and DSU software version 3.1.02. Without an aircraft serial number CAMP could not process the data and assign it to the correct aircraft.
Eclipse Action
Eclipse engineering and CAMP systems determined the cause. The software on the servers was updated to fix the issue. It has been confirmed that the update restored the proper decoding of aircraft serial numbers.
Suggested Operator Action
Customers should resume installing DSU software 3.1.02 at their next maintenance opportunity. The DSU software update improves data recording reliability. We recommend it for all customers.
