SIL Summary
This Service Information Letter provides cautionary information regarding the disposition of damaged aircraft and/or parts.
SIL Background
The aircraft noted above were substantially damaged in separate incidents. The damage the aircraft incurred compromised the aircraft structural integrity and cannot be repaired through traditional field techniques.
Eclipse Action
Eclipse Aerospace Inc. has removed these serial numbers from the aircraft registry and considers these aircraft as destroyed.
Suggested Operator Action
Operators should be aware of the history of these aircraft and that they are considered destroyed, and as such are no longer recognized or supported by Eclipse Aerospace Inc. Operators should also be aware that components, assemblies, and equipment included as part of, installed on, or listed in the build or service records for these aircraft are also considered destroyed and will not be recognized or supported by Eclipse Aerospace Inc. or Eclipse Aerospace Authorized Service Centers.
Installation of parts from these aircraft into other aircraft may void any warranties, including those for installed replacement parts.
Operators should exercise extreme caution when considering the use of salvage parts. Hidden damage, service history, and functionality cannot be determined through simple methods. The role that the salvage part played, if any, in the incident may also not be easily discernible. Installation of these parts without proper validation is not recommended.
Operators having any questions or concerns about the serviceability of any aircraft or part should contact Eclipse Aerospace Service Engineering for assistance.
