GENERAL SUMMARY

Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions. Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Maintains FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms.

Experience Required: 3-6 Years
Education Required: High School Diploma

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Required:

3+ years experience working in an aircraft maintenance environment as aircraft technician or an A&P license
Ability to communicate and resolve issues or problems
Knowledge and experience in the ground operation of jet powered aircraft
Experience in the operation of typical business jet systems
Experience in conducting annual or progressive inspection operations
Experience in conducting pre-flight and post-flight inspections
Ability to work to meet time schedules established for delivering customer aircraft
Assuring that shop equipment and tools used are in a serviceable working condition, and that required checks and calibrations have been accomplished on special tools and test equipment prior to use.
Ascertaining that necessary maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders for the assigned work function have been properly executed
Maintaining the premises of the repair station in a clean and orderly manner
Maintaining high quality work in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations
Observing the safety precautions relevant to any operation in the maintenance department
Always using required technical data (in accordance with the latest revisions) on all aircraft, engines, and appliances, for the maintenance accomplished. The data will include manufactures’ maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data, and any other technical data available through the repair station
Assuring the proper handling of all parts while in the repair process and when the work is completed
Maintaining the preservation of all units or parts during the work process, installation, and storage
Be able to understand, read and write English

Preferred:

A&P License
Familiar with the regulations in 14 CFR Part 145
Sheet metal fabrication and repairs
Use of reamers and reaming of close tolerance holes
Basic knowledge of multimeters
Fastener installations (rivets, hi-loks, huck bolts, close tolerance hardware)
Aircraft movement and towing
Fueling and defueling operations
Machine shop tool experience (drill press, band saw, sander, lathe, brake, shear, etc.)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIREMENTS

Lifting, up to 50lbs
Repetitive motion of all extremities
Climbing in and out of aircraft
Climbing up and down on ladders and maintenance stands

WORKING CONDITIONS

Employee will need to work near moving mechanical parts and in loud working conditions. Working Conditions will be both in climate controlled environments, as well as in the natural elements, as the nature of the position dictates that some of the activities associated with this position will be performed both inside and outside of a controlled structure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly expected to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, twist and kneel. There is repetitive motion to this position of all extremities. The employee must be able to move up to and in excess of 50 pounds safely with and without the assistance of machinery as required, climb in and out of aircraft as well as climbing up and down ladders and maintenance stands.
